And just a couple of months ago, scientists from Scripps Institution of Oceanography detected large amounts of fresh groundwater beneath the Antarctic ice. The amount of water from this one location would create a lake 722 to 2,690 feet deep according to the researchers.

The point is, there are new freshwater solutions that can be tapped to help solve our water problems.
