In the Field with AquaterreX: Exploring Water Resources in Colorado
Discovering new groundwater sources has evolved into a science rather than an art. While practices like dowsing and water divination have existed for millennia, they have proven inconsistent. Today, with advanced technology AquaterreX can pinpoint water sources with near-100% accuracy, even in areas “Where Others Say There Is None”.
Recently, in Colorado, our team was in the field following up on geological analyses and proprietary algorithms that processed huge amounts of data to locate “Areas of Interest” where Deep Seated Water is likely to be found. The team travelled to a 550-acre ranch in need of water. Using patented seismic and other surveying equipment, the team located multiple sites for drilling wells.
Locating sustainable freshwater sources with scientific accuracy that can determine depth to water, estimated flow rates, and thickness of the aquifer source will be a game-changer especially for those regions in need. A staggering 36 countries are classified as under extreme drought stress affecting two billion people. Over four billion people depend on shallow groundwater for drinking and food production. And, in recent decades this shallow groundwater has become more and more polluted.

Contrary to conventional belief, Earth boasts abundant freshwater resources. Through innovative technologies and proficient management practices, it is feasible to address the planet’s water needs sustainably. According to the US National Groundwater Association, there exists a 6,000-year supply of freshwater within the upper two kilometers of the Earth’s crust (Nature Geoscience article). AquaterreX has harnessed the capability to locate and extract these previously untapped water resources economically, as demonstrated by our successful water location endeavors in Colorado.

Deep Seated Water (DSW), is groundwater, typically sourced from deep aquifers that are located lower than shallow aquifers. Such deep aquifers are supplied not only from local catchment basins but also by subsurface inflows across basin boundaries. Deep Seated Water also encompasses water created at the mantle level of the Earth under extreme heat and pressure. Contamination does not occur in these deep water aquifers as modern pollution has not reached these deeper levels. And the best news is that this water is accessible and plentiful.
